Surge Protector

Wednesday, April 12th, 2006

After seeing what the electricity surge did in Carmel, I need to improve and consolidate the surge protectors I have on my own equipment here at home.

This is what I’ve chosen:

A Recent “Drew’s Choice”

Saturday, March 4th, 2006

She Wants Revenge, a fairly local band, had been getting heavy rotation time on iTunes for the past few weeks. I heard the single “Tear You Apart” once or twice on the local station X 103.9 (an awesome station that’s gone through a few big -and helpful- changes lately), and now it’s getting some airtime on KROQ 106.9 (a larger, more renowned station). Once I figured out who it was based on a Google search after hearing it on KCAL in the car, I tracked down the album as well. Highly recommended. :-)
Won’t be too long before the album spreads across the country, methinks.
David Margolis probably already knows about them (how does he do that?!), but if not, I bet he’ll like it. (Dave…I want to join your webring, but I’m not sure where your most current site is…there are a lot of David Margoli on Google.)

Waterproof iPod Shuffle Case

Sunday, July 10th, 2005

I’ve been looking at a decent case for my iPod Shuffle for awhile now. There are many, and there’s a wide range in quality as well as price. I had decided to settle on a general silicon case for about $10 (as the iPod isn’t all *that* expensive, and it’s pretty durable).

I hesitated, though, because I found Apple’s case attractive and protective, although relatively pricey at $30. It’s also water resistant.

Well, Otterbox, makers of waterproof cases for full size iPods and other devices, just announced a waterproof case for the Shuffle at $30. This, I think, is most of what I want. It’s completely protective of the Shuffle, and it’s actually waterproof. Now I can use it while working out, mowing, at the beach, or even in the pool or hot tub without giving the Shuffle a second thought.

Just thought I’d share.
